What mom and I are learning about middle age

Mom and I were talking last night (yes we have conversations) and she says middle age has unexpectedly snuck up on her and me. I’m five and so apparently in human years I’m approximately 35. Mom said I can’t mention how old she is but between you and me our Friday night goals seem to be very similar… fall asleep snoring on the couch #justsaying.
She said that we are also both becoming very “wise”. Apparently wisdom is a colour… GREY. My chin is now spattered with wisdom hairs. I don’t really mind, I think I look rather dashing… a bit George Cloonesque (he looks so much better grey).
Then she broached the subject of our expanding waistlines. Apparently “we are what we eat”! I think she is referring to my dog food and not the smelly wet fish I devoured on the beach this morning! In order to keep me fit and handsome she started me on a new dog food called Origen 6 Fish!
Being a Labrador I LOVE food; its genetic. However, this stuff is WOW, it is soooooo yummy. Nelson, Lily, Olivia and I cannot wait for dinnertime. Even greedy Olivia is sitting beautifully waiting for her bowl, although she can barely contain herself and has to concentrate very hard to sit and wait for her food.
I love that Acana and Origen nourishes dogs and cats as nature intended. The philosophy is to make biologically appropriate cat and dog food with fresh regional ingredients. This means that I am fed nourishing food that is developed to meet my needs. It has high meat content and a protein rich diet while excluding high glycemic grains and vegetable proteins that simply don’t belong in any dogs diet. There are a variety of “flavours” to choose, ranging from Prairie Poultry to Senior Dog and so many more.
We also love that they Champion Foods (the company that makes Acana and Origen food) is a family-run, independently owned business. They also know where ALL the ingredients in their food come from (yes, from source). They don’t make food for other companies and they don’t allow their foods to be made by anyone else. That is totally pawsome!
I must also touch on a subject that often creates a stink. Our poop! Mom is thrilled that the amount of poop needing to be scooped has dramatically reduced. With Olivia, the Great Dane in the mix, this is a great result. Better food means fewer poops!
Just like humans are becoming more conscious about what they eat so too is it becoming clear that dogs need dog food that contains a diet rich in meat and protein. Unlike humans we can’t make that choice so please choose our food carefully. Also mom is not fond of me of me taking her credit card and going shopping.
As I get older I have come to realise that what a company stands for and the core values underpins everything they do. At Pawfect we made the decision to always align ourselves with companies that have high ethical standards. As the CEO I am committed to making sure The Pawfect Pack always gives our dog and cat customers the best. This means offering you products including dog and cat food that we believe in (and eat). It is that simple.
